Meet Jason Erickson —

Editor, Playwright, and Island Theatre Board Member


Jason Erickson is a filmmaker, playwright, and creative technologist whose work spans film, theatre, and digital innovation. He currently serves on the board of Island Theatre, bringing a rich background in storytelling and production to the organization.


Erickson is the editor of Ray Meets Helen, a feature film directed by Alan Rudolph and selected as a New York Times Critic’s Pick. The film stars Keith Carradine, Sondra Locke, Jennifer Tilly, and Keith David. His editing and storytelling style have earned recognition at festivals and in the press, including Complications of a Walking Baby, which was a winner at the Celluloid Bainbridge Film Festival.


In the theatre world, Erickson is a published playwright. His one-act play Barking Mad was selected for production at the Ten-Minute Play Festival in 2025. His other written works span short films (Congratulations on Your New Bench, Whistling Boy in the Graveyard, A Vehicle Film) and experimental scripts such as Beyond and the Bite Sized.


Beyond his creative output, Erickson is the founder of several community-driven platforms, including:


  • Simply Lawn – a verified lawn care directory and lead-generation platform.
  • Age of Robots – a YouTube channel focused on collaborative innovation and creative experiment
  • One Year Net – an accountability platform helping users track and achieve personal goals.


He also serves as a Certified Master Gardener through the WSU Extension Program, volunteering as an educator and garden advisor in the region.
