I.T. TEN-MINUTE PLAY FESTIVAL
ANNUAL SHOWCASE OF ORIGINAL PLAYS BY LOCAL AUTHORS
Every August, Island Theatre presents FESTIVAL WEEK – a weeklong celebration of ten-minute plays, playwrights, and play writing.
The centerpiece of FESTIVAL WEEK is the Ten-Minute Play Festival – a juried selection of plays by Kitsap County playwrights—both established and aspiring. The winning plays are fully staged and performed at Bainbridge Performing Arts in both evening and matinee performances.
The deadline for play submissions each year is Valentine's Day, February 14th. Sign up for our mailing list below to receive notifications.
Shortly before the Festival, we invite you to come Meet the Playwrights behind the plays. This free panel discussion and Q&A is held each year at the Bainbridge Public Library.

The 10 plays that will be performed this year were selected by a jury of theatre professionals and Island Theatre’s volunteer board. They are:
• “A Murder Of Crows” by Lee Lawing
• “A Nip In The Autumn Air” by Jeffrey Brown
• “Best Case Scenario” by Dan Rosenberg
• “Hijab” by Catherine Rush
• “Losing Tucker” by Paul Lewis
• “Maisie, Max and Milo” by Maria Viera Beatty
• “Nacirema's Revenge” by Henry Bacon
• “The End” by Olivia Vessenes
• “The Winner” by Lori Londagan
• “Vesper” by Miranda Ray
Want to act in the Festival?
This year’s Festival includes roles for 26 actors from high school age to senior citizen. Auditions are open to all interested actors and will take place on Saturday and Sunday, May 7th and 8th from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm both days at the Historic Lynwood Theater, 4569 Lynwood Center Road NE, Bainbridge Island.
Actors must register ahead of time at islandtheatre.org/auditions where you can also find more information about auditions.
Meet the Playwrights!
Come meet the playwrights behind this year’s plays and hear them discuss their plays.
Meet the Playwrights is an informal panel discussion and Q&A held at the Bainbridge Public Library on an evening before the Festival. It’s free and no reservations are necessary.
Watch this site (or, even better, sign up for our email list) to find out the date and time.
The 2022 9th annual Ten-Minute Play Festival is partly supported by a grant from the City of Bainbridge Island Cultural Fund and donations through One Call For All.
